Trademate Sports Betting Results June 2021

To give you a bit more insight into the performance of our users and software, every month we go through our overall results, as well as taking a deeper look into our performance with each individual sport and leagues.

We are doing this with the help of our back-logged data. This is because the big data tool inside the software has a cap of 10,000 trades to speed up loading time, so for some of our sports it will not show results of every trade placed in June. There are no filters on this data, it is every trade placed no matter what the odds range, time placed, edge, etc.

Limitations

Before we get into how we performed in June, it’s important to note some of the limitations of the data we will show you:

  1. For the Flat ROI calculations, stake sizing of €1 per trade is used to remove the effect of users with large bankrolls skewing the results. Also, this way we can see whether our edge is based on beating the market, rather than the Kelly criterion.
  2. There is a chance that some of the bets in this data are duplicated as multiple customers could be placing the same bet. But the chances of this happening regularly are low as our user-base is quite geographically-diverse, which means they have to use different bookmakers.
  3. Something else that is possible but even more rare is customers logging their own bets manually within our software. Those bets are not recommended by us, but they will still appear in this data, win, lose or void.
  4. Some of the sample sizes will be very low, meaning no conclusions should be taken from those data-sets. The bigger the sample size the more accurate the data. Generally, a sample size of under 2,000 trades will include a lot more randomness and needs to be taken with a grain of salt or completely ignored.

Results & Key Findings

In the month of June, 108,368 trades were placed, €10,134,756 was turned over and €231,767.32 was profited at an ROI of 2.29%. Here is how each sport performed, broken down into recommended leagues (popular/bigger leagues) and non-recommended leagues (lower/smaller leagues):

Soccer

A much smaller sample size as expected this month, especially when it comes to the recommended leagues. The Euro’s have been a fantastic watch so far, some real high-scoring thrillers! A shame there’s only a limited amount of games to bet on. Non-recommended leagues are still performing well with a 2.94% ROI and a good sample size. A sample size which is actually not down by much from last month. Luckily the profits don’t have to stop during the Europe off-season as there’s still a lot of leagues playing in North and South America.

Tennis

An incredible start to Wimbledon and a fantastic month at all ATP events with recommended leagues returning a whopping 7.25% on investment. Summer is the best season for tennis with Grand Slams and big ATP events going on all across Europe. Will Novak Djokovic win Wimbledon for the 3rd year in a row? It’s going to be a great watch and even better because you’ll be stealing value with Trademate Sports.

Basketball

With most of the recommended leagues now in the play-offs the sample size has really dropped off and a spell of bad variance came with it. Entertainmentwise, the NBA playoffs have been a great watch and unsurprisingly riddled with injury. I mentioned in the preview, the schedule the NBA put out for this season due to the pandemic was harsh on the players, playing three or in some cases four games in one week. On top of that, it was a nightmare for us punters who weren’t able to bet very long before the tip off with so many injuries and 50/50 game-time decisions, you never knew who would be playing. Non-recommended leagues are still running and there are plenty of bets for those, for June they ran a small loss of -0.41% ROI.

Ice Hockey

A low sample size this month for Ice Hockey, the majority of leagues were in the playoffs. That’s all for this season in the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens winning the finals 3-2 against Tampa Bay Lightning. Expect a couple more months of low outlay, especially for the NHL during the offseason.

CS:GO (Esports)

CS:GO continues to be one of the most consistent sports on Trademate. The sample size is, while small, usually very consistent month to month. Providing yet again a positive ROI of 2.49%.

Rugby League & Union

Again mixed results from both rugby league and union, expected with the monthly sample sizes. I notice rugby tends to really swing. It will be interesting at the end or later in the year to see how it evens out over a massive sample.
