TOTAL PROFIT: +309 | WEEK 7 RESULT: -457 | 21/10/19 - 27/10/19

Week seven is a week I’ll never forget! As you can see, I had an absolute stinker of a week, losing $457, but it's all not as bad as it seems! Yes, I lost a lot of money, but my KPI’s have never been better, which allows me to come to the conclusion that I was unlucky. Here’s my breakdown of what was an eventful week.

I’M RIGHT WHERE I SHOULD BE

Since the beginning of this journey, I have stated over and over that I’m running well above where I should be, with my profits sitting well above my Closing EV. Well, now I’m basically on par with it, meaning this is exactly where I should expect to be after seven weeks of trading. My Closing EV is $322, while my profits are at $309, so I’m basically right where I should be in my journey.

MY WEEK 7 KPI’S WERE BRILLIANT

Instead of looking at this week emotionally, I took a look at some of my statistics to see if something went wrong with my strategy. Funny enough, my worst week when it comes to my profits was actually my most successful week when it comes to my KPI’s. My average closing edge and number trades were the highest they’ve been; and I made $78 in Closing EV, which is also a record. This just shows that I’m doing all the right things and that my strategy is actually improving. From Week’s 3-6 I had some luck, running well above my Closing EV. In Week 7 I had some bad luck, but overall, I’m right where I should be now.

The 10 Reasons Why People Fail With Trademate article explains how some people throw the towel in when they have a week like I have, when that is the stupidest thing you can do. Also, like the Jeff Ma article, it highlights the importance of not letting your emotions get the better of you. Jeff Ma was a famous card-counter, and he believes the reason why people fail in betting or anything in life is because they become emotional or superstitious and don’t look at situations and understand what you need to be remembering and capturing from the experience. I highly recommend giving these two articles a read, whilst taking into account the way I have broken down my Week 7 results.
